Ian Healy was a permanent fixture in the Australian Cricket Team from 1988 to 1999, missing just one Test. Ian holds the record for the most dismissals by a keeper in Test history, with his final tally of 395 made up of 366 catches and 29 stumpings. He is one of only eleven Australians to have played more than 100 Tests and his final tally of 199 matches is the highest by any keeper in history.
He was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in 2008.
Since retiring from international cricket, Ian has been busy with business commitments, celebrity guest appearances and his role as a sporting commentator for the Nine Network. Ian presented an insightful cricket commentary on Nine’s Wide World of Sports.
Ian has also developed experience in a wide range of sporting and business areas, as an owner in the Greg Chappell Cricket centre retail chain and a group of full service carwashes in Brisbane called Hoppys. He has also set up The Ian Healy Foundation – the Foundation distributes donations to charities such as Save the Children, Prevent Blindness, Retina Australia and The Skin Cancer Awareness Study. Ian Healy is an intelligent, articulate speaker with experience in a wide variety of sporting and business areas and possesses a warm and friendly manner much appreciated by his audiences.
